Hi guys, During the grassroots festival in the UCA basement,
Cheryl will be creating a sacred space and I will be running cafepraxis and a flash mob styled action.

If you are keen to help make coffees, art or trouble… I will need some help.

If you were thinking of attending grassroots then help out and get a discounted rego. :) Age

Here is some of the electives and more we are planning

Duncan Macleod - Worship Outside the Box - when the out-of-the-box packages don’t fit
Where do you go when you don’t fit the boxes associated with common worship networks and resources? Duncan Macleod will help you explore ways to develop authentic experiences of worship that reflect and empower the missional focus of the local people of God. Using the approach of ‘this and more’ Duncan will challenge you to step outside the limits of written liturgies, praise and worship music and art installations.

Glen Powell - Praying for peace

The story of the St Nicholas church and its role in the peaceful revolution that brought down the Berlin Wall. For 5.5 years a small group people met to pray for peace once a week until suddenly it started to grow until 300 000 to 500 000 people were marching after these peace services.

Mark Zirnsak - Stop the Traffik - Ending the trade in human beings

Unfortunately, human trafficking today is the fastest growing means by which people are forced into slavery and it is the third largest source for organised crime, exceeded only by arms and drug trafficking. It is estimated that 1.2 million children are trafficked each year.

This workshop will explain the ‘Stop the Traffik’ campaign and how you can get involved. It will explore the types of modern slavery and expose what types of goods can be made with slave-like labour, including Christian goods such as crosses.

Adrian (Age) Greenwood - Stop the Traffik Action
This non violent action will involve a form of flash mobbing around the city to startle, confuse and creatively raise awareness around the issue of human trafficking.

Sacred Space - Curated by a team of people, led by Cheryl Lawrie
A basement art installation and reflection space, exploring the voices of
God in the city.

Immerse yourself in the space, and then, if you would like, talk with the
team who designed it about the philosophy and theology behind the creation
of the space, the process, the outcome and all things in between…!
