TEAR Australia is seeking to grow a movement of young Christians in Australia who are committed to God’s work of justice and compassion, and keen to work out what this means for them in every aspect of their lives. We envisage a network of 18-25 year-olds passionate about:

• Prayer - A commitment to prayerfully seek God to move and to lead us to respond to injustice and the brutality of poverty.
• Advocacy - A commitment to lend our voice to those who are powerless and silenced by the unjust structures of our world.

So that’s what we look like….

You may have noticed over the last 12days this map on the front page just below “your feeds”. In the same spirit as the feeds it is another web based “get to known you game” It shows the location of visitors to the front page (so that means all our rss feed friends will have to visit the home page to make a dot). Basically it is a way of us seeing who we are and where we are. Cool hey?

It is updated daily and the little dots are 1-9 people; the bit bigger dots are 10-99 people and the big dot is 100-999 people.

Is there a dot for you?

Hi morepraxis buddies

You may have noticed the feed space to our right….

I was thinking it would be fun to feed (into the 2 spots on the right) all members who have sites as a bit of a community GTKYG (get to know you game).

Of course this means that we will hear all about Rus & Di’s car, Bens and Cheryls latest adventures plus Dave, Daz, Jeff and tim’s rants about the world.  I like the chaos of it in 2 or 3 most recent links. So if you update your info to show your site I will kick off.

morepraxis Community?

Angry Young Thing has posted a question that could use a page of its own.

I think that this is a good question for the morepraxis community to answer together.

Personally, it feels most like an active community to me in the weeks where other members posts and comments have to be scheduled so each post gets a days on the top of the page. Basically when I can see that people are reading and engaging with the content. It also helps that some of our members are part of communities I spend time with.

More of my thinking about our community is in the about morepraxis and join our community

Recently morepraxis had an upgrade and new features were added to make our site more functional and easy to navigate. These addtions hopefully help people connect better to what goes up and builds the sense of community too.

….So the space is open (as always) to suggest ways to build and develop morepraxis as a site, community, resource and a movement.

What will make morepraxis more of a community for you?
