Have you had trouble finding leaders willing to lead youth bible studies or start local mission within your faith community? If so you’re not alone. I am writing to ask for your help in creating, sustaining and discipling leadership in your youth and young adults. As such this year we are running a ‘Tap a Leader on the Shoulder’ Campaign. As you would expect it involves approaching people with potential for leadership or those leaders who could use some support, training and encouraging.

We will begin with a leadership training and discernment day on April 19 (costs $25 - Ringwood UCA, 30-32 Station St, Ringwood) with a focus of creating a space for leaders to discern their gifts / areas of interest and get a taste of some learning/training. From there the aim is to create small groups locally to work through Dave Andrews ‘Compassionate Community Work’ Course ($100 including leadership day). Finally, we (with your help) will provide mentors/coaches for each group and encourage people to attend educational and experiential learning in line with their call throughout the year.

Also, I am available to run the five week course MERGE AHEAD as a introduction to local mission and as a means of gathering your group. MERGE AHEAD is a time to think, act and reflect on becoming the church we wish we were. It is designed for groups, churches, youth groups and faith communities to reflect on the theology and lifestyle of following Jesus in today’s world.

Thought of a few people to tap on the shoulder? Well….
