What is School of Discipleship?
The school is exactly what it says it is, a ’school’ where we come to work on what it is to live the Christian life. The truth is that a follower of Jesus can only authentically obey if they are biblically grounded and theologically informed. Our conviction is that the church today stands in constant need of renewed worship and testimony- a determined struggle to seek faith with understanding.
The School of Discipleship is a place of re-conceiving what it means to follow Jesus. It is a passage of grace, a time of re-orientation, a place where each of us gather for reflection and renewal in order to be exposed to the love and commands of the Triune God.
When? July 13-16
What is the title of this years SOD?
“Christian Identity: A Radically Different Life!”
It’s going to be about the character and virtues required to sustain a life of radical discipleship.
Who is the keynote speaker this year?
Rev. Dr. Chris Budden.
Who’s that?
As someone who stirs the imagination and stimulates the devotional and the political aspects of discipleship, Rev. Dr. Chris Budden brings the gifts that his calling as a Minister of the Word and Scholar enable him to do. He is well equipped to both inform and challenge the church and society concerning the cause of Christ in the world. A gifted preacher and biblical teacher with a Pastor’s heart, Chris has had wide experience across the church and the Christian life. He is someone you will not want to miss hearing at this year’s School of Discipleship.”

I’ll be missing out this year as I’m leading Winter Camp for High School students on the same week.
That’s a bummer. I’m still not sure if I’m coming up for it myself yet.
Is Dean coming? Who else have you grabbed for your camp that I would hang out with?
I think I will be - always some good content and conversations.
Of course some of those conversations are normally with you.
It also runs over the same time as the debrief for About Face 8 too. (but I believe that part is up in NT not down here with me)
Sooo I imagine I will make up my mind soon.
issue is more that lots of our potential leaders might go to SOD instead leaving me currently way understaffed, something about a stuff up in communication re dates, ie they changed the dates for SOD early in the year while we had WC dates way back in July last year.
Yes that would suck. I see your point about leadership and who’s grabbing who. Winter camp has had pretty committed leaders/support in the past - has the choice to go the SOD really left you understaffed? I didn’t think there was so much cross over in the mobs - those that I can think of would end up at winter camp over SOD. But I am way out of it now… what would I know.
